The First Webinar Meeting of Rice Research Institute of Iran (RRII)  and the Shanghai academy of agricultural sciences (SAAS)

In order to strengthen scientific cooperation with international research centers of the world, the First Webinar Meeting of the Rice Research Institute of Iran (RRII) and the Shanghai academy of agricultural sciences (SAAS). This committee meeting was held on November 24, 2022, participated by  Mr. Kaveh representative of the Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Shanghai, the Director General of RRII and his research team, and a representative of the Academic Relations and International Affairs (ARIA), of the Agricultural Research, Education and Extension (AREEO); representative of the Shanghai academy of agricultural sciences (SAAS) and senior researchers of SAAS in water saving and drought tolerant rice.

In this meeting representatives of RRII and SAAS discussed rice conditions in Iran and China and drought-tolerant rice cultivars that save irrigation water and cope with climate change-induced water scarcity. Finally, they emphasized bringing more attention to close collaborations about breeding-agricultural practice projects for biotic and abiotic stress, the new technology transfer for interesting subjects. Also, a schedule for the future plan was agreed upon with both sides.
