Title: optimization of irrigation intervals in large scale paddy fields using crop growth models
Author: Mojtaba Rezaei
Abstract: One of the ways to reduce research costs and increase the accuracy in the generalization of small-scale research output to a larger one is the application of Crop Growth Models (CGMs). This method requires the use of data obtained in the irrigation network, but, for a wide variety of reasons, studies showed that it is time and energy-consuming to obtain the required data. Recently, a new approach is being developed by research centers and scientific communities to increasing water productivity at large levels. In this new approach, the simultaneous use of data from remote sensing technology and satellite imagery along with computer modeling technology has been proposed with the aim of increasing accuracy in the process of increasing water productivity and reducing the need for ground data. In this study, using several point data series at a large scale, it was tried to increase the accuracy of CGMs i.e ORYZA and SWAP models in yield estimation. The results showed a major role of the model in increasing the accuracy of applied models.
